Welcome to Bridlewood Community Elementary School, where every day is an opportunity for discovery, growth, and success! As the principal of this vibrant learning community, I am thrilled to welcome you to our school, where we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment for all our students in Kindergarten to Grade 6. With just over 400 students, we offer something for everyone as a triple track school with our English Regular program, Early French Immersion (EFI), and Middle French Immersion (MFI) program options, as well as two specialized program classes.
At Bridlewood, we believe that every child is unique and capable of achieving great things. Our dedicated team of educators is passionate about fostering a love of learning in each student, helping them to develop the skills, confidence, and curiosity they need to succeed in school and beyond. We work to support the whole student using educational approaches such as the "Third Path" and offering flexibility in learning to foster critical thinking and collaboration. We are dedicated to culturally responsive education and our ongoing commitment to equity and inclusion.
Our Student Improvement Plan focuses on enhancing student achievement and well-being, with a strong emphasis on promoting reconciliation and Indigenous education and on bridging the gap between home and school. As a school team, we are committed to working closely with families to support each child's academic and personal growth. Communication and collaboration with parents and guardians are vital to our success, and we encourage you to be actively involved in your child’s education. Whether through volunteering, attending school events, or simply staying informed about your child’s progress, your involvement is key.
Bridlewood CES is built on the strong partnership between our staff, students, and families. We deeply value the contributions of our parents and the school council, whose involvement is vital in shaping our school’s direction. We encourage all parents to join us in making our school council a true reflection of our community’s diversity.
Our school is more than just a place for learning; it is a community where everyone is valued, respected, and supported. We celebrate diversity and work together to create an inclusive environment where all students, families and visitors feel a sense of belonging at Bridlewood. From the kindness and leadership of our students to the dedication and creativity of our staff, we are a school that values teamwork, innovation, and a deep sense of social responsibility.
At Bridlewood CES, our strong commitment to the OCDSB’s Culture of Caring, Innovation, and Social Responsibility is at the core of who we are. Our vision is to nurture curious, creative, and compassionate learners who are prepared to make a positive impact on the world. As we embark on another exciting school year, I invite you to explore our website, stay connected with our weekly updates, our school council events, and join us in making this a fantastic year for our Bridlewood Broncos.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. We look forward to a year of learning, growth, and achievement.
Warm regards,
Megan Skentelbery
